l have a Mercedes-Benz E-200 2007 model and it says '' ESP inoperative'' and l do not knowwhat to do. can somebody please help me quick

Electronic Stability Program
When working helps to control car on corners. Should have a switch to turn it back on

Electronic Stability Program, l think it happens on all Mercedes-Benz (those 1998 or newer models).
There is a on off switch, when it turns on, the program will distribute correct wheel spins ratio automatically to ensure the correct 'drive line',like at corner, different road surfaces.But it need to be turned off to suit unique road condition, like driving on sand, snow or when the snow chain is installed.
It is a unique & useful MB features, must have been saving thousands of life.

It is the Electronic Stability Program, & on E classes like yours there is a toggle switch that turns it on or off, probably on the console between the seats near the gearshift.

This is a system that helps prevent u losing control of the car when u near the limits of tire adhesion, such as taking a corner too fast. The system will cut gas to the engine, among other techniques, to help u control the car.

On cars without the anemic engine in an E200, it also helps prevent wheelspin when u floor the car from a deadstop -- no worries with an E200 here, though.

First, find the switch & try turning it back on. You really do not want this system off unless u r at the track & want to induce wheelspin under certain scenarios.

If switching it on does not work, u need to take the car in to be serviced, as that means something is wrong. E-Class electonics on the current model r notoriously fickle, so there may be something that needs fixing.

In the meantime, u r safe driving it -- just do not test the cars limits at all (until several years ago no cars had a system like this, so u should be fine under normal driving conditions).

If it is the the switch, there should be a small red light on the switch (to let you know the switch is off.) Turn it on. But, if something needs to be fixed, do not you have a warranty on your car?
Take it to the dealer.

if your ESP says inoperative, then its not working. The only way to get something like that fixed is going to the dealer. Should not be a big deal or expensive to fix.
