hi everyone - our mercedes benzA140 has a ticking noise from the engine. the local garage said its nothing - but i'm not sure - it gets louder when revved but is sometimes quiet. its a W reg 2000 model.could it the timing chain? thanks all

It could be the tapets, if it is it needs to be taken to a garage and properly looked at. Its only a minor problem at the moment so no rush maybe you could have a family friend or neighbour that knows about cars to just quickly have a look at it and quote the word 'tapets' if they find anything then you could pay to have it taken to a garage. Thats what happened with my car
