We wanna buy a mercedes- Benz CL-500 with a lorinser package . its a 2001 and its black. It is soooooooooo nice! l just love love love it.
They were asking about 30,000 for it and we dropped the price down to 26,000 Is it worth that much? it only has 47k miles and no damage ever done to the car. clean title. just looks perfect. But l dont wanna buy it knowing l paid too much for it... Is it worth this much? People please help!

It looks like the car values out at $26,325 (if it has the Sport Package).$26k is fair, but $30k is too much. You will have a gard time trying to finance it for that amount ( l do auto loans!)

l love Mercedes too but they have a problem holding there value my friend bought a 2004 cl-600 with about 24,xxx miles for $16,000. no accidents the thing was perfectly fine.

but if your buying retail the dealer value if in good condition is about $32,000

The one thing you have to take into consideration is that Mercedes-Benz is are extremely high maintenance cars. So, if anything breaks down, or any parts stop working, it is gonna be a load of money to pay for them. l recommend getting a 2009 Audi A4, you can get it for around $33,000 if you know how to negotiate, and the car is beautiful.

yeah 26000 is fair. actually.pretty good! l would consider it.

What most people r failing to notice is that u have a CL500 with a LORINSER package. l believe that package (if it is the full pkg) was over $15000 alone! To value it as just a CL-500 would be an injustice to Lorinser.

l would also have the car checked by a quality shop that specializes in Mercedes-Benz. You may think it is in great shape, but end up paying way too much for a car that has hidden needs.

The suspension update that Lorinser does, has some negatives as well. The car will need an alignment every year, depending on how u drive it & how many pot holes u hit! Which brings up another issue, those huge tires! Being a staggered set (rears r wider than the front) forget ANY rotation of the tires to increase wear. Once they start to wear, they need to be replaced in pairs. That should run u about $1000. THAT'S FOR 2 TIRES!!!! Can u say OUCH!! But, they sure do grip the road on those curvy mountain roads. (please do not tell me you're in the mid-west with nothing but straight roads)

So, all told, if it is a FULL PACKAGE Lorinser (with engine mods! not just appearance package- wheels & tires) for $26k & nothing needs to be done to it, then sure, buy the thing! You r getting a steal at that price.

Well then, the good the bad & the not so ugly. The price is good, judging from ur description. Look out for hidden flaws. Get it looked at by a competing shop. If that does not work & u want a car that is 89% Mercedes, built in the Karmann plant in Germany, then take a look at a Crossfire. It is not a chrysler but a MB with all the bells & whistles. l own one, a 2004 & am looking for another. They can be had in the coupe ltd. version for as little as $14,000 for an '04 to $20,000
for an '07 ltd. Same issue with tires but fun to drive & all SLK all the way. If you'd like an SRT/6 u will spend a bit more but worth every penny.
Just my 2 cents worth.

l would say go to an auction. To do this you have to ask the dealer to take you. My dad did that. It costed 1,000 dollars for him to go to the auction but saved over 5,000. If not availabe drop it to 25,000

The price is very nice for a whole lot of car. Brand new with Lorinsor mods would have been around $100k. Most important are that you like it and can afford it. Hell, you will have the nicest car in the neighborhood.

hmmm l would hold out for a brand new one or go with the c or SL class
