what is the meaning of suv's and sedans

SUV = small utility vehicle
sedan has four doors as compared with two doors on other models.

SUV- Sport Utility Vehicle.

SEDAN- Four door model that is not high up like an SUV.

Subaru Oubacks are considered SUV is because they sit a little higher than your adverage car.

Some people have a hard time getting into a sedan,but Mercedes makes a SUV with a diesel that gets real good mileage.That would be my choice.

Sedan is a ''normal'' four door car. In the old days they had only sedans, coupes (two door cars) & cabriolets (open cars like convertibles.) Then station wagons, hatchbacks, vans & mini vans & the rest of them appeared.
An SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) is like a station wagon, but taller & they have higher road clearance. Some of them r two wheel drive, some four wheel drive, some have all wheel drive.
They put the word ''Sports'' in the name to attract younger buyers, who did not like station wagons (there is nothing ''sports'' in most SUVs.)

A suv is MENT to be used in offroad condictions, but in America woman use them with children and it rarely touches the dirt. A sedan is used for normal road driving, normally carry 5 people, 4 in comfort.

Sedan is a type of car that has 4 door and its maximum seating capacity is 5 passengers. Its engine could start from 1.3 L onwards.
