The alarm keeps on going off randomly, did or dose any one have this problem and how can it be fixed?

When l turn the alarm on it will go off after a few min’s and if l don’t turn it on it will turn its self on and then after a few min’s it will go off,

the car is the 1997 model

corner lights flashing as well when it goes off,
and today l noticed a tiny leak around the seal of the roof.

Uhhm, there is no such thing as a 1997 SLK. They were introduced as a '98 model year car.

Sounds like ( no pun intended ) you need a new alarm sensor/control unit.

There r several (at least 6) sensors/switches that can trigger the alarm, also the PSE pump with the alarm module built in could be faulty & triggering it by itself. Your best bet is to take it to a qualified independent with the SDS or to the dealer so they can see exactly what is triggering it. We just did an slk yesterday that was caused by the alarm siren itself having an internal fault. Quick question, is it just the siren going off, or do u see the corner lights flashing as well?
