Why does it have 6.3 L Badges if it really has a 6.2 L?

Bra l also asked myself that but l got no answer, l guess they wanted it to sound right it does not sound right when we call it a c62 AMG.63 is better then 62 l think. You could ask clakson from top gear.Watch the video of the Audi RS4 vs BMW M3 and MERC C63 AMG l think they spoke about that.

Yes, the displacement really is 6.2 litres but AMG is first in-house designed engine is called a 6.3 to pay tribute to the first vehicle that AMG modified. That was the 300SEL 6.3 just over 40 years ago.

Apart from that, another reason could be ''marketing''. l know this for sure because the E240/C240 suggests that the engine is a 2.4 right? Well the engine is actually a 2.6. l dunno why but Mercedes-Benz (as l was told) names a few of their cars in this manner for ''marketing reasons''.

Wingless is exactly correct, the 63 designation was chosen by Mercedes because it has better maket appeal than 62. AMG was founded by 2 DaimlerBenz engineers in 1967, and designed high-performance engine parts for Mercedes V8's. They began modifying complete vehicles in 1986
