The COMAND unit has the navigation button but that was standard for all ML models in 2000. The actual navigation drive unit was a dealer installed option however. If you do have it installed in your ML, just hit the open button to fold down the screen and install the navigation CD into the drive unit behind the screen.
If you do not have that navigation drive unit, it has to be installed first ( as well as the antenna on the back of the roof, the ant. cable and splitter ).
